Thousands of People Join Ticket Rush for Independence Day Ceremony, Showing Public’s High Enthusiasm

Public enthusiasm to attend the series of ceremonies to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, has been exceptionally high.

On the first day of the invitation ticket rush, which opened on Wednesday (08/05), a total of 128,331 people from 36 provinces in Indonesia and 14 countries registered to participate.

Alhamdulillah, public enthusiasm has been extraordinary. Yesterday, on the first day, 128,331 people participated in the ticket rush. They came from 36 provinces, and there were even participants from abroad, including the United States, Australia, Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Türkiye, France, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia,” Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said in a written statement on Thursday (08/06).

The Minister expressed his appreciation to everyone who participated in the invitation ticket process. According to him, the high level of public interest reflects the national spirit and enthusiasm to witness the ceremony in person at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.

“Thank you to everyone who registered to participate in the ticket rush for the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia ceremony at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta,” he said.

Responding to the large number of applicants, Prasetyo apologized to those who had not yet been successful in obtaining an invitation. However, the public need not worry, as the Government will reopen the invitation ticket process on Thursday, 6 August 2026.

“We apologize to those who did not have the opportunity to grab an invitation yesterday. Today (06/08), at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time, the ticket rush will be reopened. Therefore, the public need not worry, as there is still an opportunity to try again,” the Minister said.

He also encouraged the public to continue monitoring official information regarding the invitation ticket process and to comply with all applicable requirements so that the registration process can proceed in an orderly and smooth manner. (BPMI) (EST/TM)
