Presiding over Dinner at Akmil Magelang, President Prabowo: We Have Become One Big Indonesian Family

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, led a dinner with regional heads and cadets at the Husein Dining Room, Magelang Military Academy (Akmil) Complex, Central Java, on Thursday, February 27, 2025. The event was held in the framework of the regional heads’ retreat as a forum to strengthen relationships and synergy in national leadership.

In his remarks, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation for all regional heads in carrying out the mandate to serve the people. The Head of State reminded that despite coming from diverse backgrounds, all regional heads must realize that they are part of one whole nation.

“We come from different backgrounds, different regions with different languages, different customs, different tribes, different ethnic groups, different religions, but we have become one. We have become one big family, a big family of the archipelago, a big family of Indonesia,” the President said.

The dinner was made even more special by the presence of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Their presence emphasized the continuity of national leadership and commitment to maintaining national stability and unity.

“Two presidents who served before me are here. Two presidents with 20 years of experience in leading this nation. And of course we are grateful for all the dedication of all the presidents before I took office,” President Prabowo said, paying tribute to his predecessors.

Not only that, President Prabowo also appreciated their leadership in maintaining national unity amid various global challenges. “Mr. SBY, Mr. Jokowi, for 20 years you have controlled the nation and state, kept the country from being divided, kept the nation and state from being disturbed by other nations,” said the President.

Concluding his remarks, President Prabowo again emphasized the importance of building harmonious relationships in leadership. The President acknowledged that differences and challenges will always exist, but the best solution must always be prioritized for the benefit of the people.

“There may be misunderstandings, there may be conflicts between us, but we always look for a good way. We always look for a way of deliberation, we always look for a way of peace, we always look for the best for the nation, state, and our people,” the President said.

The dinner is an important part of a series of regional heads’ retreats that are expected to further strengthen cooperation between leaders, strengthen national solidarity, and encourage synergy in realizing a more advanced Indonesia. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (APN/LW)
