President Prabowo Saturday (05/16) attends the simultaneous great harvest of corn in the second quarter, the groundbreaking of 10 National Police Food Security Warehouses, and the operational launch of 166 National Police Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in 2026 in Tuban regency, East Java province.

President Prabowo Subianto has once again underscored that food security is the main foundation for maintaining national sovereignty.

In his remarks at the simultaneous great harvest of corn in the second quarter, the groundbreaking of 10 National Police Food Security Warehouses, and the operational launch of 166 National Police Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in 2026 in Tuban regency, East Java province, Saturday (05/16),

The President also emphasized that efforts to enhance food security are being pursued in coordination with several strategic government initiatives.

These include the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, the Red and White Cooperative, and the establishment of fishing villages supported by the national agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors.

“Through the Red and White Cooperative, MBG, and Fishers’ Villages supported by our agricultural and fisheries capabilities, we can secure our food production. We have sufficient sources of carbohydrates, proteins, and livestock. Corn is strategically utilized for animal feed, further safeguarding our sovereignty,” the President stated.

In addition, the President highlighted that the MBG program will continue due to its crucial role in improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources.

However, he also stated that its implementation must be orderly and free from misuse.

On that occasion, the Head of State also expressed appreciation for the National Police’s efforts in strengthening national food infrastructure through the construction of food security warehouses and the operation of food SPPG units in various regions.

He added that these facilities will help maintain the stability of food supplies and meet the public’s nutritional needs.

“The groundbreaking of 10 food security warehouses, along with the 18 you’ve already built, is extraordinary. Thank you for the operational launch of 166 new SPPG units. You will play a vital role in the future,” he said.

In addition to enhancing food security, the President emphasized that the Government remains committed to improving the quality of human resources through equitable access to education. The Government, the President added, will continue strengthening educational facilities, expanding People’s Schools, and introducing digital learning technology in schools across Indonesia to provide equal learning opportunities for all children.

“We are determined to improve all Indonesian schools for our youth. We are committed to ensuring that even the most vulnerable children can receive a good education. We are building People’s Schools. If I recall correctly, there is already a People’s school in Tuban. We will increase the number and capacity,” he concluded. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (FI/EP)
