Gov’t Inaugurates Key Infrastructure Projects Across Indonesia

President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (11/19) inaugurated Kabanaran Bridge in Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta.

In a hybrid ceremony, the President also inaugurated other infrastructure projects in several regions across Indonesia.

The four projects inaugurated alongside Kabanaran Bridge were Gatot Subroto Underpass in North Sumatra, Sungai Sambas Besar Bridge in West Kalimantan, as well as Joglo Surakarta Underpass and Canguk Flyover in Central Java.

The infrastructure projects aim to boost regional connectivity and strengthen public access to logistics routes and interregional mobility.

According to the President, infrastructure development serves as a fundamental pillar for enhancing economic equity and improving people’s quality of life.

In the meantime, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo reported that the infrastructure projects serve as a foundation for improving public spaces and driving economic growth.

“The projects inaugurated today, namely two bridges, two underpasses, and one flyover across four provinces, worth Rp1.97 trillion,” the Minister said.

For the record, the inauguration of the infrastructure projects is part of the Government’s measures to ensure smooth public mobility ahead of Christmas and New Year holidays.

The Kabanaran Bridge serves as a vital route for local fishermen who depend on access to the southern coastal areas. It also supports salt farmers and seaweed industry centers that require more efficient distribution channels.

The coastal tourism sector is expected to receive a new momentum with the operation of this connecting infrastructure.

As part of the southern Java connectivity network, the Kabanaran Bridge strengthens logistics routes and opens broader economic opportunities, supporting the development of the southern corridor as a future strategic zone for tourism, trade, and industry. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RI/EP)
