President Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting with several Red and White Cabinet ministers at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/5).
In his statement following the meeting, Head of the Development Control and Special Investigation Agency Aris Marsudiyanto conveyed that the meeting focused on a comprehensive evaluation of ongoing government priority programs.
“We are evaluating everything that is running with current programs and so on. Alhamdulillah, the Statistics Agency has announced our year-on-year economic growth at 5.61 percent. This means all of the President’s programs are running well and smoothly so far,” he said.
Based on a report from the Statistics Agency released on May 5, 2026, Indonesia’s economy in Q1 2026 showed positive performance with 5.61% year-on-year growth. From the production side, the accommodation and food & beverage sector recorded the highest growth at 13.14%. From the expenditure side, government consumption expenditure (PK-P) grew the highest at 21.81%.
Aside from the economy, Aris explained that President Prabowo also directed all government ranks to strengthen coordination and open constructive dialog with all parties as program evaluations ensure policy effectiveness amid global dynamics.
“I hope that all national elites, especially the academics and observers, know that the President always opens space for communication, democracy, and discussion. Please convey criticisms in good ways,” Aris said.
Through evaluation combined with open dialogue, the Government reaffirms its commitment to maintaining growth momentum while ensuring policies truly impact public welfare. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (EST/LW)
