President Prabowo Subianto Saturday (09/13) attended a limited session on ‘Inclusive Global Governance and Strengthening Multilateralism’ at the 2026 BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, India.

In his remarks, the President extended his appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership as the host of this year’s BRICS Summit. He said that unity among BRICS member countries will affirm position and resilience of respective countries.

He went on to say that a country’s capabilities are also reflected by its ability to meet the basic needs of the people, including in the areas of food, energy as well as education, and opportunities to improve welfare.

“By standing together, we become stronger. Our strength must always begin at home, with our own people. It begins with our ability to provide them with sufficient food, to guarantee the energy they need, to educate our children, and to give every one of them the opportunity to live a better and more prosperous life. This is how we build a strong and resilient nation,” he said.

The Head of the State also underscored that resilience is essential to allow a nation to determine its own policies independently. Indonesia, he added, is strengthening its foundation to promoting peace and building trust because the country does not want to be dependent or be a subject to pressure from any particular power.

Through robust foundation, Prabowo Subianto expressed belief that the cooperation among BRICS member countries, particularly on energy resiliency and interconnectivity, can be further expanded and strengthened.

“Energy is a clear example. We must connect our energy systems and strengthen energy security across our region, so that we can drive economic growth and build resilience that are sustainable for the future,” he added.

For the record, Indonesia, through its participation at the BRICS Summit, promoted concrete cooperation that strengthens not only food security, energy security, education, and economies of member countries, but also deliver concrete self-reliance and greater prosperity for the people.
