Letter from Community School Student to President Prabowo: We Are Ready to be Golden Generation of Youth

Students at Community Junior High School (SRMP) 10 Cibinong, West Java province, a boarding junior high school under the Government’s Sekolah Rakyat (Community School) program aimed at students from low-income families, took an opportunity on Sunday (07/27) to deliver heartfelt letters to President Prabowo Subianto.

This opportunity took place during a visit from Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, and Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono to their school.

One of these students was Erni Andayani, who expressed her enthusiasm and delight for being able to pursue education at a school equipped with comprehensive facilities.

“The Community School [program] allows us to experience education with complete facilities, have nutritious meals, and pursue our dreams with peace of mind,” she said in her letter.

According to Erni, the program initiated by President Prabowo has given her and other students from underprivileged families new hope of achieving their aspirations.

“Before Community School existed, we did not know what the future held for us. We felt we had no future. We thought all doors were closed, and there was no way for the disadvantaged like us to realize our dreams,” she said while sharing the happiness she felt from studying at the community school, where she has made new friends.

“We are very happy here, with many friends, all the teachers treat us with great kindness as if we were their own children, and we are like family here. They teach us everything here, from discipline, orderliness, manners, and much more,” she said.

Erni also conveyed her and her fellow students’ determination to study diligently in order to succeed together.

“We want to disprove the doubt of those who say that poor people cannot succeed. We will study hard so that we can succeed and achieve our dreams,” she said.

Erni closed her letter by thanking President Prabowo and expressing her readiness to be part of the next generation that will contribute to realizing the vision of Advanced Indonesia.

The following is Erni’s letter to President Prabowo

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Your Excellency President Prabowo Subianto,

We extend our sincerest gratitude. We don’t know how to repay you, Sir. Thanks to your kindness, we can now attend school.

Community School allows us to experience education with complete facilities, have nutritious meals, and pursue our dreams with peace of mind.

Before Community School existed, we did not know what the future held for us. We felt we had no future. We thought all doors were closed, and there was no way for the disadvantaged like us to realize our dreams.

We are very happy here, with many friends, all the teachers treat us with great kindness as if we were their own children, and we are like family here, Sir.

They teach us everything here, from discipline, orderliness, manners, and much more.

We want to disprove the doubt of those who say that poor people cannot succeed.

We will study hard so that we can succeed and achieve our dreams.
