President Prabowo Reviews Disaster Response Acceleration and Year-End Holiday Preparedness at Hambalang

President Prabowo Subianto convened several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, on Sunday (12/14) to discuss disaster response efforts in Sumatra as well as preparedness for the year-end holiday period.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in a written statement, conveyed that the meeting was held following President Prabowo’s on-site inspection of areas affected by the disaster. “After conducting a direct inspection of the disaster-affected locations, President Prabowo summoned several ministers of the Red and White Cabinet to his private residence in Hambalang on Sunday (12/14),” the Cabinet Secretary wrote.
In discussions on disaster management, President Prabowo underscored the importance of accelerating the construction of housing for affected communities. “Regarding the construction of temporary shelters and permanent housing for all residents affected by the disaster in Sumatra, the President has directed that it be completed at the earliest possible time,” he explained.
In addition, the President also underscored the importance of fulfilling the basic needs of displaced residents. He instructed that these needs be comprehensively met. “The maximum deployment of heavy equipment and drinking-water trucks, the provision of clean water supplies, and portable toilets, particularly in the most severely affected areas,” the Cabinet Secretary noted.
Meanwhile, the meeting also addressed the Government’s readiness for the year-end holiday period, including the stability of food security, the prices of essential commodities, and developments in the national economy.
The Government further discussed the provision of incentives across several sectors to facilitate smooth public mobility during the year-end holiday period. “The provision of incentives for several sectors to facilitate the year-end holiday period, particularly significant discounts on toll road tariffs, airfares, train fares, sea transportation fares, and other public facilities,” the Cabinet Secretary concluded.
