President Prabowo Leads Twilight Parade, Flag-lowering Ceremony at Magelang Military Academy
President Prabowo Subianto led the twilight parade and flag-lowering ceremony at Pancasila Field, Magelang Military Academy, Central Java province, on Friday (10/25), joined by the new Red and White Cabinet ministers.
The twilight parade commenced with performances by a marching band and a display of troops marching before the main ceremony.
Despite the rain, the ceremony participants continued to carry out the parade. The President, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and the Cabinet members were spotted in their camouflage uniforms.
President Prabowo conducted a troop inspection accompanied by Minister of Defense Sjafrie Syamsuddin, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) General Agus Subiyanto, and Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. They rode in a Maung 1 vehicle manufactured by the state-owned defense equipment company PT Pindad, followed by three Maung vehicles carrying the Vice President and other ministers.
After the inspection, the ceremony proceeded with a moment of silence dedicated to the country’s heroes who have contributed to the Indonesian nation.
Acting as Commanders of the Ceremony were Cadet Staff Sergeant Major (Sermatutar) Irfan Yuda and Cadet Staff Sergeant Major Aldrian Ahmad Effendi.
The event was then followed by the lowering of the national flag and the reverberation of the song Andhika Bhayangkari.
After the twilight parade, the event continued with a defile and a marching band performance by the Canka Lokananta Academy’s Fife and Drum Corps. (KS/ABD) (FI/MMB)
