In a written statement, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained the meeting addressed strategic issues concerning agriculture, energy, and infrastructure sectors.

Teddy also said the Government will soon adopt specific policies in the agricultural sector.

“In the agricultural sector, the Government will promptly implement policies to address challenges related to cassava and tapioca by engaging local governments and industry stakeholders, while also prioritizing the welfare of farmers,” he said.

Teddy also noted the President has expressed concern regarding energy-related issues.

“In the energy sector, the discussion centered on the mechanism for importing ethanol and molasses production, as well as providing rural electricity using solar cells,” he said.

Teddy also further delivered about the President’s directive regarding rural electricity.

“The President ordered the National Investment Agency Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) to develop a prototype for solar-powered rural electricity. This prototype will be built in several areas and is targeted to be operational within 3-5 months,” he said.

The meeting also discussed the agenda for major infrastructure development.

“Another issue discussed was the plan and funding for the construction of a giant sea wall which will impact approximately 50 million people along the north coast (Pantura) of Java,” Teddy concluded. BPMI of the Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/EP)
