President Prabowo Begins State Visits to UK, Switzerland to Strengthen Strategic Partnerships at WEF Davos

As part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s diplomacy at the global level, through both bilateral cooperation and participation in international economic forums, President Prabowo Subianto on Sunday (01/18) began his overseas working visits to the United Kingdom and Switzerland to attend a series of strategic meetings.

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the President commenced his trip from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta.

“This Sunday afternoon, January 18, 2026, President Prabowo Subianto began his visits to the United Kingdom and Switzerland to attend several meetings,” the Cabinet Secretary said in a written statement.

Prior to his visit to London, the Cabinet Secretary said that the President first held a meeting with Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Prof. Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, to discuss recent developments.

“At Halim, President Prabowo met with Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, to discuss the latest developments, before leaving for London,” the Cabinet Secretary explained.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy further said that in London, England, the President is scheduled to meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss a number of strategic partnerships between Indonesia and the United Kingdom.

In addition, President Prabowo is also scheduled to meet with King Charles III to discuss issues related to nature and environmental conservation.

“The Head of State will also meet with King Charles III to hold discussions on nature and environmental conservation, including elephant conservation, together with several global philanthropic figures,” he added.

Following his agenda in the United Kingdom, President Prabowo will continue his visit to Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF).

At the forum, President Prabowo is scheduled to deliver a keynote address before world leaders and global economic stakeholders.

“President Prabowo will also hold strategic dialogues with chief executive officers of leading international companies,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy remarked.

For the record, President Prabowo’s visits underscore his active role on the global stage and reinforces Indonesia’s position amid evolving global economic and geopolitical dynamics.
