President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (09/26) conducted an inspection of rice availability and distributed government food reserves at the Tanah Grogot Warehouse Complex in Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province.

According to the President, the inspection aimed to ensure smooth distribution of food assistance and check the national rice stock managed by the State Logistics Agency (SLA).

During the visit, the President also engaged in dialogue with the beneficiaries present and inquired about the progress of rice distribution for October, as well as the quality of the rice provided.

“Have you all received the rice for October? Any complaints? Is the rice black? No, the rice is good, right?” asked the President to confirm.

The Head of State also mentioned the transition of government. As his term ends on October 20, 2024, he expressed hopes that this food assistance program would be continued by the newly elected president Prabowo Subianto.

“When you meet with the elected President Pak Prabowo, please ask him to continue the program because I will retire on October 20,” said the President.

In a warm atmosphere, President Jokowi also expressed his gratitude to the public and conveyed his apologies to the people as his term in office approaches its end.

“On this good occasion, I would like to apologize if there were any mistakes, oversights, or shortcomings in the policies I have made for the people,” said the President.

For the record, the visit marks an important step for the government in ensuring national food security and the smooth operation of the food assistance program.

With the distribution starting in Paser Regency, the President hopes that people across Indonesia can benefit from this program, especially in addressing an uncertain economic situation. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/DNS) (AS/EP)
