Indonesia Launches Major Energy Projects in 15 Provinces, Reinforces Net-Zero Commitment

President Prabowo Subianto has expressed appreciation for the collective efforts of all stakeholders, including the Government, national and international private partners, and Indonesia’s youth, in demonstrating their ability to manage large-scale and complex energy projects.
“I’d like to express my appreciation and gratitude to everyone who has worked hard, as well as to our partners from abroad, the private sector, and all other sectors. I am delighted and proud to see our youth playing an active role. Our young engineers and workers can manage highly sophisticated and complex projects. This fills me with great pride,” the President said in his remarks at the hybrid inauguration ceremony Thursday (06/26), marking the operation and development of renewable energy in 15 provinces, a 30,000-barrel increase in oil production at the Cepu Block, and the groundbreaking of five geothermal power plants (PLTP).
The President also showed special appreciation to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and national energy industry players for their dedication in implementing strategic programs without personal or group interests.
“With what we are doing today, in particular, I’d like to also express my appreciation to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and all of his staff from the Ministry, SKK Migas (Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities), who have worked exceptionally well and produced tangible results, managing well without personal or group interests, producing the best for the people,” the President said.
The Head of State also commended the active role of strategic partners, both domestic and abroad, who have supported national energy development. According to him, the participation of strategic partners has yielded tangible results and benefits for Indonesia.
“You have placed your trust in Indonesia, and Indonesia will never forget your trust and participation in our efforts to achieve a modern and independent Indonesia. Once again, on behalf of the Indonesian people, I would like to thank you and extend my best wishes to all your executives,” he said.
This inauguration marks the Government’s commitment to accelerating the national energy transition and achieving the net-zero emissions target by 2060.
