Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution must serve as the main guideline in national economic development, President Prabowo Subianto has said.

“Our economy must function as a collectively endeavor rooted in the principles of family. Let the strong lead the way; let those in the middle press forward; let us support those who are less fortunate; let us uplift the most vulnerable for they are our family and our children. Everyone one of them is a citizen of Indonesia,” the President said at the opening of the 2025 Indonesian Regency Government Association Autonomy Expo at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten province, Thursday (08/28).

According to the Head of State, the Government has succeeded in reclaiming 3.2 million hectares of land that had previously been controlled unlawfully by certain parties and emphasized that there would be no amnesty policy in the management of state assets.

“There will be no amnesty. Those who break the law cannot simply ask to be excused. They must pay compensation; otherwise, I will seize it,” he said.

The President also reminded all national leaders to remain consistent in carrying out the mandate of the Constitution and stressed that national development must bring broad benefits and must not only serve the interests of a few.

“The land, the waters, and the natural resources contained therein are controlled by the state and shall be utilized for the greatest welfare of the people,” he continued.

The President also conveyed his appreciation to all stakeholders for their dedicated efforts in advancing the nation, in line with the principles of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.

“We have achieved important progress. Our food production has risen remarkably. Thank you to everyone: governors, regents, and especially the Indonesian National Defense Forces and National Police. Your dedication has been extraordinary,” he remarked. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat) (GWH/EP)
