Cabinet Secretary: Day Five Post-Disaster, Government Had Delivered 253 Tons of Logistical Aid to East Nusa Tenggara

The Government, based on the directive of President Prabowo Subianto, continues to accelerate the delivery of aid to the people affected by the disaster in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province. On day five post-disaster, Wednesday (8/19), a total of 253 tons of logistical aid has been delivered to the affected areas.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that on Wednesday morning, five planes departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, carrying 65 tons of aid.
“First of all, upon the directives of the President, today, day five post-disaster, on August 19, 2026, at 04.00 am, five planes departed to NTT carrying 65 tons of logistical aid. So, from the 27 tons of aid on day one, up until day five, the total of 253 tons of logistical aid was already delivered,” stated the Cabinet Secretary.
The logistical aid consists of food, drinks, tents, medical-related aid, and other aid needed by the affected people. The Government prepares two main disaster relief posts to speed up the distribution of aid in Labuan Bajo and Maumere cities.
Aid from the Labuan Bajo post is delivered to some areas, such as Manggarai and Ngada regencies. Meanwhile, aid from the Maumere Post is distributed to Sikka, Ende, and Nagekeo regencies.
The distribution was carried out through air, sea, and land routes. The air route is strengthened by operating helicopters, Cassa planes, and small aircraft. Meanwhile, for the sea route, three Indonesian Navy Ships and one hospital ship have berthed in the affected area.
“Based on the report from the Minister of Public Works, all land routes have been accessible since the second day,” stated the Cabinet Secretary.
Moreover, according to the Cabinet Secretary, the Government will monitor disaster relief efforts to ensure that all processes run swiftly and aid reaches affected communities as quickly as possible. He also expressed his appreciation to all stakeholders involved in the disaster relief in East Nusa Tenggara province.
“I express my gratitude to all personnel on duty, residents, volunteers, and all parties involved in helping with the disaster relief so that the logistical aid can be delivered as soon as possible and the affected residents can benefit from it as quickly as possible,” concluded the Cabinet Secretary.
