President Prabowo Subianto Sends Eid Greetings to Palestinian President, Renews Indonesia’s Backing for Palestine

President Prabowo Subianto conducts phone calls with leaders of friendly nations.

President Prabowo Subianto recently held a phone call with President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas to extend Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri greetings.

In a written statement issued on Monday (03/23) Cabinet Secretary noted that the call formed part of President Prabowo Subianto’s ongoing silaturahmi with leaders of friendly countries and aimed to further as strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Palestine.

“President Prabowo Subianto extended Eid al-Fitr greetings by telephone to leaders of Muslim friendly nations, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas,” wrote Teddy.

In addition to the Palestinian President, President Prabowo Subianto also spoke by phone with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of UAE Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim.

Previously, the President had also extended Eid al-Fitr greetings by telephone to President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, King of Hashemite Jordan King Abdullah II, and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman.

“This silaturahmi serves as a prayer and a sincere hope for preserving closeness and support, while strengthening cooperation among nations, especially during this meaningful Eid al-Raya moment,” Teddy continued.

President Prabowo Subianto has used the Eid al-Fitr momentum to reaffirm humanitarian values, solidarity, and a sense of brotherhood among nations. In this context, his communication with President Mahmoud Abbas also stands as a symbol of Indonesia’s consistent and unwavering support to the Palestinian people.

Since the early days of independence, Indonesia has regarded Palestine as a close friend bound by deep historical and emotional ties. In international forums, Indonesia consistently takes a leading role in advocating a just and dignified peace for Palestine.
