President Prabowo Reinforces Indonesia–Canada Diplomatic Ties in Canada Visit

As part of his visit to Canada, President Prabowo Subianto kicked it off with a bilateral meeting with the Governor General of Canada, Mary Simon, at Rideau Hall, Ottawa, on Wednesday (09/24).
Upon arrival, President Prabowo was warmly welcomed by the Secretary to the Governor General of Canada Ken MacKillop, before heading to the Large Drawing Room for the bilateral meeting.
During the discussion, both figures underscored the shared values between Indonesia and Canada, namely democracy, pluralism, and multiculturalism. These shared principles are a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation in multiple sectors.
In addition, the President and the Governor General noted the importance of people-to-people contact between the citizens of Indonesia and Canada. The ties established at the people level are expected to strengthen economic, educational, and cultural cooperation while deepening the bonds between the two nations.
Furthermore, President Prabowo also highlighted the significance of expanding cooperation between Indonesia and Canada more comprehensively in the future. This effort is in line with the vision of both countries to support sustainable development and ensure inclusive community welfare.
