Statement of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the National Consolidation Meeting of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) at The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday, January 16, 2025
Reporter:
There was a discussion about the greater involvement of private sector in your administration. How will this impact the development in the future?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Prabowo Subianto):
In the infrastructure sector, we will designate it to the private sector so that they play a bigger role. We expect them to be more efficient, timely, innovative, and able to drive growth across various regions.

Regarding the proposal to use zakat fund for the free meal program, what do you think?
President of the Republic of Indonesia (Prabowo Subianto):
We have organizations that manage zakat. From the central government’s perspective, we are ready to provide meals for all Indonesian children in 2025. Regional governments—governors and regents—are also eager to participate. We welcome them. Anyone who wants to contribute is welcome, as long as the process is carried out in an efficient, well-targeted, and prudent manner.
