President Prabowo Subianto Attends 46th ASEAN Summit to Reinforce Regional Cooperation

President Prabowo Subianto is set to attend the 46th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The President Prabowo and his limited entourage Sunday (05/25) at around 16.30 Western Indonesian Time took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, in East Jakarta, heading for Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia Subang Airport.
The send-off ceremony of the eparture was attended by Commander of the Jakarta Military Region Rafael Granada Baay, Chief of Jakarta Police Inspector General Karyoto, Commander of Air Operations Command I Air Vice Marshal Muzafar, and Commander of Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase Air Vice Marshal Erwin Sugiandi.
During the summit, the Head of State is scheduled to attend a number of meetings, starting from the plenary session, a retreat session, and meeting sessions with representatives of ASEAN parliament, youth, and business actors.
Along with ASEAN leaders, the Head of State will discuss a number of strategic issues of the region.
“In Kuala Lumpur, the President is also scheduled to attend the 16th BIMP-EAGA Summit, the 2nd ASEAN-GCC Summit, the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit, and the 16th IMT-GT Summit. The meetings are expected to serve as an important momentum to strengthen the central role of ASEAN amid global dynamics,” Deputy to Presidential Secretariat Head for Protocol, Press, and Media Yusuf Permana said in his written statement.
The attendance of President Prabowo Subianto in the 46th ASEAN Summit’s series of meetings affirms Indonesia’s commitment in strengthening cooperation and maintaining stability in ASEAN region. The summit is also expected to further promote cooperation between Indonesia and ASEAN countries.
