President Prabowo Subianto Highlights Unity and Gratitude Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri

President Prabowo Subianto chairs the plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta, Friday (03/13).

In a bid to review the Government’s preparedness ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri, President Prabowo Subianto Friday (03/13) chaired a plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta.

During the meeting, the President first invited all cabinet members to express their gratitude for the good health and opportunity to allowed them to convene the session.

The President also expressed hope that Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala would accept Muslims’ worship during Ramadan and grant them the opportunity to observe holy month of Ramadan again next year.

“We have entered the 23rd day of the holy month of Ramadan, and in seven days we will celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri. May our worship be accepted by Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala God the Almighty, and may we be granted the opportunity to observe Ramadan again next year,” the President said.

On that occasion, the Head of State also expressed his appreciation to Indonesians of diverse religious backgrounds for maintaining an atmosphere of tolerance during Ramadan, adding that mutual respect among religious communities is one of the nation’s fundamental strengths.

“Let me also extend my gratitude to our brothers and sisters of other faiths who have respected the month of Ramadan. This has always been a source of pride and strength for the Indonesian nation as we practice our respective religions in an atmosphere of harmony, kinship, and mutual respect,” the President said.

President Prabowo Subianto also recalled a memorable experience when he attended the anniversary commemoration of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Malang, East Java. He said the event’s atmosphere reflected a strong spirit of togetherness and tolerance within the community.

“There, Nahdlatul Ulama figures said that churches in Malang opened their courtyards, welcomed NU members to rest there, and provided parking spaces. This is our strength, our goodness. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, unity in diversity. We must preserve this,” the President said.

In addition to discussing preparations for Eid al-Fitr, President Prabowo Subianto also underscored the Government’s efforts to tackle the impacts of disasters in several regions.

The Head of State expressed his appreciation for the hard work of all government elements involved in rehabilitation and reconstruction.

“We have just seen a short video highlighting the achievements of the Bridge Task Force: 218 bridges in two and a half months. This demonstrates the Government’s swift and responsive action,” he said.

President Prabowo Subianto also extended his appreciation to all parties involved in disaster management across various regions, including local governments, officials, and volunteers working directly on the ground.

“On behalf of the state and the nation, and as President, I’d like to extend my gratitude to all elements who have worked hard. To Minister of Home Affairs, as Chair of the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force, let me also convey my appreciation and thanks to all personnel on the ground who have worked tirelessly,” the President remarked.
