President Prabowo Presents Gov’t Statement on State Budget Bill for 2027 Fiscal Year

President Prabowo Subianto delivered a state address on the Presentation of the Government Statement on the Bill on the State Budget (APBN) for the 2027 Fiscal Year and its Financial Note, at the Plenary Meeting marking the Opening of the First Session of  House of the Representatives (DPR) for the 2026–2027 Parliamentary Year. The plenary meeting was held at the Nusantara Building in Jakarta on Friday (8/14).

President Prabowo arrived at the parliamentary complex and was welcomed by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Speaker of the DPR Puan Maharani and Speaker of the House of Regional Representatives (DPD) Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin. The plenary meeting began with singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by the opening remarks for the First Session of the DPR for the 2026–2027 Parliamentary Year delivered by the Speaker of the DPR.

In her opening remarks, Puan Maharani stated that the opening of the session marked the beginning of the third year of the members of the House for 2024–2029 term. As the third year begins, Puan emphasized that the results of development and various government policies must become increasingly tangible and felt by the public.

“As we enter the third year, the people’s expectations will grow, since they look forward to experiencing the benefits of development and government policies more tangibly in their daily lives,” she said.

She emphasized that the session serves as an important momentum for the House to continue improving its performance while ensuring that public aspirations are accommodated in the policies.

“This session will provide an important opportunity for the DPR to further strengthen its performance, consider the aspirations of the people, and formulate policies that deliver tangible benefits to the public,” she continued.

Opening his state address, President Prabowo expressed his appreciation to the leadership and all members of the DPR for their cooperation, oversight, and support in the formulation and implementation of the State Budget.

“First, I would like to express my appreciation to the leadership and all members of the DPR RI for their cooperation, oversight, and support in the formulation and implementation of the State Budget,” said the President.

He emphasized that the State Budget plays a strategic role in fulfilling the mandate of the state. It is not merely a document for managing state finances, but also an instrument to protect the people, strengthen the nation, and realize the ideals of independence.

“The State Budget is not merely a state financial document. The State Budget is our tool of struggle. It is a tool to protect the people. It is a tool to strengthen the nation. It is a tool to realize the aspirations of our independence for the better lives of our people,” he stressed.

Furthermore, President Prabowo emphasized that the struggle of the nation’s heroes to establish the Indonesian state must now be continued through a shared responsibility to ensure that the state is able to deliver benefits and improve the quality of life for all Indonesians.

“If our heroes once fought for the establishment of Indonesia, today our duty is to ensure that that the state is successful, the state could improve the quality of our people’s lives.
