President Prabowo Subianto paid an official visit to the King of Jordan, Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, on Monday (4/14) at the Al Husseiniya Palace, Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This visit marked the strong bilateral relations between Indonesia and Jordan.

President Prabowo arrived at the Al Husseiniya Palace complex at around 1 pm local time. He then walked past an honor guard, towards King Abdullah II who was standing to welcome his arrival. The two of them shook hands warmly and took a photo together with the background of each country’s flag, symbolizing friendship and equality between Indonesia and Jordan.

Afterwards, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II continued to hold a tête-à-tête meeting. The meeting took place in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, discussing various strategic issues of common interest, including regional stability and bilateral cooperation in various fields.

After the meeting, the two heads of state walked together to the room for signing the memorandum of understanding (MoU). Upon their arrival, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II firstly greeted and shook hands with the delegations of each country.

The Indonesian delegation accompanying the President were Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Investment and Downstream/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesian Ambassador to Amman Ade Padmo Sarwono.

President Prabowo and King Abdullah II then witnessed the signing of MoU by the representatives of the two countries. The cooperation documents signed covered the documents in the fields of defense, agriculture, education, and religion.

After the signing of the MoU, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II walked side by side again towards the bilateral meeting room. The main delegations from both countries entered the room first, marking the start of further discussions regarding the implementation of concrete cooperation in the future.

To conclude the official visit, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II attended an official luncheon at the Al Husseiniya Palace. This moment was a symbol of the close friendship and joint commitment of both countries to continue strengthening mutually beneficial strategic partnerships.
