President Prabowo Departs for Japan for Working Visit

President Prabowo Subianto kicked off Japan’s working visit, aiming at strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing strategic cooperation between Indonesia and Japan.

The President and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta at around 10.35 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. Accompanying the President during the working visit were, among others, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Agus Subiyanto, and Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, in his remarks, said that the President is slated to attend several important agenda in Japan, including a state call to the Japanese Emperor Naruhito and a meeting with Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi in Akasaka Palace, Tokyo.

The meeting, he added, is expected to serve as a strategic momentum to strengthen cooperation in various sectors, such as investment, energy, maritime and digital affairs.

“After concluding the agenda in Japan, President Prabowo and the entourage are slated to carry on working visit in the Republic of South Korea,” Teddy said.

The series of President’s working visit are parts of Indonesia’s active diplomacy to affirm its strategic position in the East Asia. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (RAS/AW)
