On the sideline of Emirates-Indonesia Cardiology Hospital inauguration, in Surakarta city, on Wednesday (11/19), President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the exchange of Letter of Intent (LOI) on educational technology partnership/EdTech between Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs on educational technology partnership/EdTech.

The LOI signifies strategic measures of both countries in strengthening collaboration in education sector, especially in the effort of improving the quality of Islamic education institutions in Indonesia. The partnership was started from the awareness of the Foundation’s mission in supporting initiatives in humanity, development, and education globally, and the mandate of the Ministry of Religious Affairs to improve quality, management, and Islamic education institutions’ competitiveness.

In the document, both parties emphasize the joint interest of extending collaboration between both countries that boosts digital transformation, pedagogy innovation, and technology-based learning environment development. The collaboration is expected to be a model of collaboration that can create solutions for a more adaptive and inclusive learning for the young generation.

Khalifa Foundation and the Ministry of Religious Affairs also admitted that it is necessary to find a solution for educational technology that is sustainable, cost-efficient, and in line with the needs of religious education institutions in Indonesia. The approach is expected to be applicable in a big scale to provide real benefits for the students, teachers, and Islamic education community in Indonesia’s regions.

As the LOI exchange was witnessed by President Prabowo, the collaboration became a symbol of strong commitment between Indonesia and the UAE in empowering education as the foundation of national advancement as well as in strengthening the friendship of both countries in human development and future technology.
