Gov’t Strengthens Enforcement Against Illegal Activities in Forest Areas

President Prabowo Subianto Friday (09/04) met with the Forest Area Restoration Task Force (Satgas PKH) led by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor regency, West Java province.

In a written statement, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that the task force had reported on the progress of its findings and enforcement efforts to address various violations related to the use of forest areas.

“During the meeting, the Forest Area Restoration Task Force (Satgas PKH) provided updates on its findings and enforcement measures against various violations related to the use of forest areas, including illegal mining,” the Cabinet Secretary said.

In addition to its enforcement efforts, the Task Force also reported on the outcomes of cases involving forest-area-use violations and the administrative fines imposed. These developments are scheduled to be announced in the second week of September 2026.

The Cabinet Secretary added that President Prabowo Subianto also emphasized the need for firm and professional law enforcement. He also called for all stages of implementation and enforcement in forest areas to be carried out transparently and accountably.

The enforcement efforts form part of the Government’s broader commitment to protecting forest areas while ensuring that natural resources are used in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Through the Task Force, the Government continues to enforce the law against a range of violations in forest areas, including unauthorized and illegal activities to ensure that forest areas are managed in an orderly and responsible manner. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (FI/EP)
