President Prabowo Subianto and U.S. Under Secretary Elbridge Colby Discuss Strengthening Strategic Partnership

President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (08/12) received U.S. Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge Colby and his delegations at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta during which they discussed efforts to strengthen relations and the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the United States.

Following the meeting, Under Secretary Colby expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to meet the President in person.

He described the meeting as warm and constructive meeting, saying it formed part of ongoing efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

“It was an extraordinary honor to meet with President Prabowo Subianto and his team,” Under Secretary Colby said in his statement.

He also emphasized that the U.S. Government remains optimistic about advancing its relationship with Indonesia.

According to Colby, deeper engagement will be guided by mutual respect, partnership, and enhanced cooperation between the two countries.

“I think the U.S. Government is very optimistic about advancing its relationship with Indonesia, based on a partnership founded on mutual respect and deeper cooperation,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, Under Secretary Colby expressed appreciation for the opportunity to visit Indonesia and voiced his hope that relations between Indonesia and the United States would continue to grow stronger.
