A rehearsal for the ceremony marking the 81st Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence was held at the Presidential Palace, Wednesday (08/12), featuring aerial demonstration involving 81 aircraft and helicopters of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI).

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi expressed his appreciation to the TNI personnel, particularly all pilots, for demonstrating their skill in operating aircraft and helicopters and showcasing the military’s trained human resources in support of the state ceremony.

“Although this is only a rehearsal, we would like to express our appreciation to all TNI personnel, particularly our pilots, who put their safety at risk to proudly fly the fighter jets, A400 aircraft, and helicopters,” he said.

Prasetyo added that several aerial maneuvers during the rehearsal created a thrilling atmosphere while demonstrating the professionalism and readiness of the TNI personnel.

After the rehearsal, all teams involved conducted an evaluation to refine several technical aspects of the ceremony.

One focus was the coordinates and maneuvering positions of the aircraft and helicopters, ensuring they were precisely aligned with designated points easily visible to the President and attendees.

An evaluation was also conducted to ensure the preparedness of the Heirloom Flag-Hoisting Team, including the site’s technical arrangements.

“It concerns technical matters, such as the firmness of the grass or the field. The grass at the palace is quite thick, so some adjustments are needed. Earlier, the trainers requested additional training sessions, and on behalf of the organizers, we will accommodate the request even it falls outside the schedule for both the partial and the final rehearsals,” he concluded.
