President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Campus of the Indonesia Defense University, Bogor, Wednesday (6/11). Afterward, President Prabowo Subianto inspected a number of supporting facilities for the cadets’ education programs. He toured the campus area by a bus, passing through the library building, the laboratory, and the defense engineer workshop.

The campus inauguration was enthusiastically welcomed by the cadets. They expressed their pride in the state’s attention to education that is integrated with the spirit of national defense and academic professionalism.

Sergeant Major Rahmat Hidayat, the Mechanical Engineering Cadet, expressed his pride in the inauguration of the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Campus. He said the facilities on campus support learning and other academic activities in the education process.

“The facilities we have used include the defense university workshop, the engineering laboratory, and the tools and equipment that support our study programs in the academic activities,” he said.

Moreover, the uniqueness of the Indonesia Defense University as a semi-military campus is also an added value. The cadets, he said, are taught to instill discipline in themselves in their daily lives.

“What makes this campus different from other campuses is that first, we are semi-military. Second, we are taught discipline in our daily lives. Third, character is our main cornerstone,” he added.

In general, all cadets expressed their appreciation for the President’s attention to this educational institution. Sergeant Hendik Widy Awan, a Medical Cadet, expressed his gratitude to the President and hoped that this campus can create generations who do their best to serve their country and nation.

“Thank you, Mr. President, for the inauguration of the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Campus. Thank you for all the facilities provided for us. We will strive to our best to defend this country,” Hendik concluded. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information (BPMI) of Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/TM)
