President Prabowo Subianto Hosts State Dinner for PM Charnvirakul

President Prabowo Subianto hosted an official state dinner for Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (08/03), concluding the series of PM Charnvirakul’s visit to Indonesia.

The dinner, which demonstrated close ties between Indonesia and Thailand, was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Traditional Indonesian cuisine was served to showcase the richness of Indonesian flavors to the Thai delegation. The event was also enlivened by a series of Indonesian cultural performance, featuring the Tanggai Dance from Palembang, South Sumatra province, wayang kulit (traditional Javanese shadow puppetry), and dance performance depicting the epic story of the Ramayana.

In his remarks, President Prabowo delivered his appreciation for the state visit of PM Charnvirakul and his delegates to Jakarta that aimed at elevating Indonesia–Thailand partnership to a higher level.

The President expressed belief that the friendship, cooperation, and partnership between Indonesia and Thailand that continue to flourish in a spirit of goodwill will further enhance the prosperity of both countries. He added that bilateral relations are measured not only by the achievements of both governments, but also by the growing closeness between the people of the two countries.

“Whatever the circumstances, our close friendship, excellence cooperation, and partnership will continue to grow in this atmosphere of goodwill, and this positive condition will further enhance the prosperity of both countries,” he said, while expressing his confidence over Indonesia-Thailand’s togetherness as a part of ASEAN.

In the meantime, PM Anutin Charnvirakul lauded President Prabowo and the Indonesian Government for their warm welcome and hospitality during his visit.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the Indonesia–Thailand cultural affinity that has long served as the foundation of relations of the two countries. According to him, the two countries are united not only by their shared history but also by their rich cultural heritage, reflected in their languages, arts, music, literature, and cuisine.
