12 New Ambassadors Submit Credentials to President Jokowi

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by a number of Government officials, received credentials from Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary from twelve friendly countries at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (7/8).

The ceremony began with greeting for the ambassadors, flag raising ceremony, and the rendition of national anthems by the music corps of the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres).
The twelve new ambassadors who submitted the credentials were:

  1. Mahmut Erol Kilic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey;
  2. Jonathan Edward Austin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand;
  3. Nebosja Koharovic, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Croatia;
  4. Zainal Abidin bin Bakar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia;
  5. Owen John Jenkins, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland;
  6. Yasoja Gunasekera, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Sri Lanka;
  7. Petar Dimitrov Andonov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria;
  8. Daniyar Sarekenov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  9. Faizullah Zaki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan;
  10. Belmiro Jose Malate, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mozambique;
  11. Mlondi Solomon Dlamini, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Eswatini domiciled in Kuala Lumpur; and
  12. Sekou Kasse, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mali, domiciled in New Delhi.

After receiving the letter of credentials, President Jokowi invited each ambassador to Veranda of the Palace.

Also present during the event were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung. (HIM/JAY/ES)
