Approximately 15 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine bulk supply from Sinovac has arrived in Indonesia, on Tuesday (12/1).

Today’s arrival is the third batch after 1.2 million doses and 1.8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine arrived in 6 December and 31 December 2020, respectively. The vaccine bulk then will be manufactured by state-owned pharmaceutical holding company Bio Farma and will be used in free vaccination program in Indonesia.

For the record, Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine has received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) recommendation from the Indonesian Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM), and halal fatwa from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

It indicates that the vaccine has been through clinical and scientific testing to ensure that it is safe and halal. (DND/BPMI/UN) (RAS/LW)
