Following the success of “MSMEs Digital Heroes” program in 2020, the program is back to search digital innovators committed to helping MSMEs players to level up and become more empowered through various digital innovations and solutions.

The registration period starts from August 29, 2022 until September 26, 2022.

The program, which is a collaboration between Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and Presidential Staffer Putri Tanjung, aims to appreciate and increase the capacity of digital innovators and inspire more Indonesian youths to create innovations and become digital heroes for MSMEs in the country.

The roles of these digital heroes are needed to achieve the target of 30 million MSME players entering digital ecosystem by 2024 as stated by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo in his state address on August 16, 2022.

Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki expressed optimism on the current development of digital innovators as digitization created by these young innovators has been proven to change millions of MSME players, helping them to become more empowered and stronger amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“If we want MSMEs to become more empowered, going digital is the answer. For that reason, we need many digital innovators who we call “digital heroes”. MEMEs cannot level up alone so we must assist them,” Teten said, Monday (08/29).

Echoing a similar sentiment, Presidential Staffer Putri Tanjung invited digital innovatos to collaborate to help more MSMEs and be part of the Indonesian MSME digitization movement.

According to her, these digital heroes are needed to assist MSME players in various ways, including on market access digitization, monitoring of production quality, finance and access to financing, organizational management, production capacity, supply, and distribution digitization.

Not only to contributing to efforts to push for MSMEs to level up, winners of the program will also receive attractive prizes and have the opportunity to become partners of the Ministry in various MSME digitization programs, Putri added.

The 10 selected MSMEs Digital Heroes will collaborate with the Ministry for #berubahdigital (going digital) program in 2013, which is a program to assist and develop the digital transformation of MSMEs in several regions in Indonesia.

Those 10 winners will also have the opportunity to pitch in front of venture capitalists, leading technology companies, state-owned enterprises, ministries, and other financing institutions.

The top 10 of the 2020 MSMEs Digital Heroes were Kopral, Restoku, Belanjaikan.com, Femalepreneur.id, Krealogi, Bonsay, Credibook, Chatbiz.id, Auto Pilot Store, and Mantab.id.

These innovators are regarded to offer interesting innovations and digital solutions, ranging from being supply chain providers for fishery sector, linking fishers and consumers, transforming traditional traveling merchants, to digitizing cooperatives.
