Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Official Closing of 11th ASEAN Para Games 2022, at Manahan Stadium, Surakarta City, Central Java Province, August 6, 2022

Distinguished Mr. Hun Many who is representing Cambodia as the next host of the 2023 ASEAN Para Games, President of ASEAN Para Sports Federation;

Your Excellencies Ambassadors of Friendly Countries,

Distinguished Ministers of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet, President of the National Paralympic Committees, Executive Chair of Indonesia Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee, Chef de Mission, Governor of Central Java, Representatives of International Sports Federation, Member of Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of 11^th ASEAN Para Games, athletes and officials;

Ladies and Gentlemen;

Beloved people of Solo and Greater Solo.

Indonesia is honored to be the host of 11^th ASEAN Para Games. I extend my appreciation to 1,248 athletes from ASEAN countries for the participation. Thank you for showing that limitations and difficulties are not obstacles. With commitment and hard work, people with disabilities are able to score a million achievements.

Solidarity among ASEAN nations shown by the athletes will be a great strength for ASEAN and for persons with disabilities. We are committed to continue our support to every initiative of persons with disabilities. Let us make the next 12^th ASEAN Para Games a success in Cambodia.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the Indonesian people, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Deputy Chairperson of the Cambodian National Paralympic Committee Mr. Hun Many, who attended this event and is ready to be the host next year.

I would also like to extend my appreciation to all delegates from each country, especially the athletes who have shown their sportsmanship. Also thank you to ASEAN Para Sports Federation, International Sports Federation, the National Paralympic Committees and Committee of 11^th ASEAN National Para Games. I also thank Governor of Central Java, Mayor of Surakarta, the people of Solo and Greater Solo for being very friendly hosts.

This concludes my remarks on this auspicious occasion. By offering our gratitude to Allah, alhamdulillahirabbilalamin, I hereby close the 11^th ASEAN Para Games tonight.
