26 Provinces Set 2019 Provincial Minimum Wage

UMPMinister of Manpower Hanif Dhakiri on Friday (2/11) at Bogor Presidential Palace said that there are 26 provinces that have submitted reports on Provincial Minimum Wages (Upah Minimum Provinsi–UMP), while other 8 provinces have announced the UMP amount but have not submitted the reports yet.

For the record, Ministry of Manpower has set an increase of 8.03 percent of the 2019 UMP. This increase follows the inflation rate and national economic growth, as stipulated in Government Regulation Number 78 of 2015 onWages.

“The increasing amount of 2019 UMP, which would be stipulated on 1 November 2018, was at 8.03 percent. The increase referred to the Government Regulation Number 78 of 2015, ,” said the Minister.

Speaking of the 26 provinces that have submitted the reports, Hanif ensured that their reports are in line with Government Regulation Number 78 of 2015 on Wages.

Meanwhile regarding 8 provinces that have not submitted their reports, Hanif said that the Governor might have not signed the documents.  (EN/MAY/AGG)
