43rd ASEAN Summit Media Center Gives 24-Hour Services for Journalists

Prior to the series of the 43rd ASEAN Summit taking place from 5-7 September in Jakarta, the Government through Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Menkominfo) prepared a media center located at Exhibition Hall B, the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). It will be operated from 2 to 8 September 2023.

“This year’s ASEAN Summit will have similar arrangement with the last summit. The news coverage will be started from departures of heads of state on airport by the media [event] host and will be directly broadcasted in media center. Whereas, the arrangement for media coverage access in the Summit sessions, gala dinner, and spouse program will be informed soon” said Minister of Communications and Informatics (Menkominfo), Budi Arie Setiadi, in the Media Gathering of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, Monday (08/28).

The Minister stated that there are 1,077 local and foreign media journalists registered in the 43rd ASEAN Summit 2023. He also called on from the journalists who come from 170 international and 70 national media companies to join succeeding the organizing of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

“Through this meeting, I hope that we will have the same visions and understanding in supporting the event” Budi Said.

On the other hand, the Ministry’s General Director of Public Information and Communication, Usman Kansong said that media journalists who have registered and were accredited can take their ID Badges in the media center.

“Media center will be operated for 24 hours to provide the needs for news coverage for media partners” Usman Said.

In a bid to support the work of journalist, he added, Ministry of Communications and Informatics provides 240 workstations with 1.5 gigabyte per second (gbps) internet connection. In addition, the Ministry also provides a number of facilities such as dedicated international broadcast center distribution, 10 15-square meter media partner office booths, audio-video editing booths, one-on-one studios, and multi-format broadcast conversion. There are also media briefing rooms, press conference rooms with a capacity of 300 people and five interpreters.

Ministry of Communications and Informatics will also prepare press releases, photos, and video pack in two languages, clean feed broadcast, and the 43rd ASEAN Summit bulletins.
