60th Anniversary of KAA: 78 Countries Sure to Present, Including 28 Heads of State/ Government

President Jokowi accompanied by Coordinating Minister of PMK, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chief of Staff of President reviewing preparations of 60th Anniversary of KAA, in Bandung, Thursday (16/4)

After attending the Greatness Ceremony and receives Beret and Brevet of TNI, in TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Thursday (16/4) noon, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) went straight to Bandung to conduct a review of the implementation readiness of Commemoration of 60th Asian-African Conference (KAA) in 2015.

With the accompaniment of the song Halo-Halo Bandung being voiced by the traditional musical instruments of West Java, Angklung, President Jokowi seemed satisfied that the venue is ready to host the Asian-African Conference Commemoration 60th.

After reviewing indoors of Merdeka Building, President Jokowi said that the preparation for this grand event has reached 95 percent. President Jokowi assess that still look some shortcomings. “There are still lacking a little paint and a little flower,” he said.

So far, according to the President, up to now there is confirmation from 79 state representatives, 28 of whom are Heads of State or Government expressed confirmation of attendance.

In the event that will be held later, he said, there is an agreement that we voiced at the meeting. But the details of the deal, he added, will be delivered later.

Accompanying President Jokowi in the review of preparation of KAA 60th Commemoration, among others Presidential Chief of Staff Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Coordinating Minister for People’s Empowerment and Culture (PMK) Puan Maharani, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno P Marsudi, and Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno.

On that occasion, President Jokowi took time to pray Dhuhur in the Bandung Great Mosque, which is located about 100 meters from the location of the Merdeka Building.

Before leaving Bandung to Jakarta, President Jokowi took time to greet the citizens of Bandung. Even President also directly distributing books to students who are around locations that visited. (Humas Setkab/ES)
