As of 9 June 2020, as many as 61,837 or 87% from total of 70,786 villages have disbursed direct cash assistance in the form of village funds for beneficiary families.

“There are 70,786 villages out of 74,953 whose village fund has been transferred to the village bank account, and of those 70,786 villages, 61,837 of them has distributed the fund” Minister of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Abdul Halim Iskandar said, Tuesday (9/6).

According to the Minister, there have been two major obstacles which hamper the channeling of the funds, namely the funds have not yet been  transferred to the village bank account and the funds that have been transferred to the village bank account but the distribution is hampered.

Abdul went on to explain that his Ministry has identified factors that cause the delay in channeling the village funds and is currently working on it.

He also pointed out that the Ministry will continue coordinating with those villages so that the funds can be distributed evenly and immediately. (PR of Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration/EN)
