President Jokowi Attends the Anniversary of PKP Indonesia

President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo said that since the beginning, the Government continues to carry out economic policies that upholds the soul of Pancasila (Five Principles), which is an economic policy that based on mutual cooperation and aims to create social justice for all Indonesian people.

“It will be continued, like one price fuel,” the President said in his remarks at the 18th Anniversary of Partai Keadilan dan Persatuan Indonesia (Indonesian Justice and Unity Party/PKPI), at Garden Ballroom, the Dharmawangsa Hotel, Jakarta, on Sunday (15/1) afternoon.

The one price fuel, the President added, just has been done three months ago, after the Government has fought for it for 1.5 years.“The premium price in Papua, particularly in mountains area, usually reaches Rp60,000, Rp70,000, up to Rp100,000 per litre, while in Java island it is only Rp6,450. “It happens for decades, but alhamdullilah, the price is now Rp6,450,” the President said.

According to the President, the unfinished task which is still on process, is the adjustment of cement’s price. The President said that the price of cement in Java island is around Rp70,0000-80,000, whereas in Puncak Jaya, Lanny Jaya, and Wamena, it is around Rp800,000- 2.5 million. “This task is still on process, but, insyaaAllah, we will fight for it,” the President said.

The President explained that from the aspect of budget policy in the 2016 Revised State Budget, for the first time, the budget for regional transfer as well as Villages are bigger than the budget for Central Government. “Why the Government does this? Because we want to support money circulation and regional economy can move better,” the President further said.

Regarding the nation’s sovereignty and integrity, the President added, Indonesia’s effortsto make its frontier regions more feasible and make us proud has shown the results. The President mentioned some improvements in Cross Border Posts in Entikong, West Kalimantan, as well as in Motaain and Motamasin, East Nusa Tenggara. “Previously, our people preferred to take photos in our neighboring countries, but now it is the contrary. They like to take photos in our country,” the President said.

From the aspectof connectivity, according to the President, the Government wants to accelerate infrastructure development for logistics that Indonesia-centrist not Java-centrist. “Thereby, the traffics of people and goods will be faster and more efficient, so that the price of goods will go down, social mobility takes place, and social justice for all people of Indonesia will be materialized,” the President affirmed.

The 18th Anniversary of PKPI was attended by the fifth President of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri, former Vice President Try Sutrisno, the Speaker of People’s Consultative Assembly Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, and Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti.
