Introductory Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Joko Widodo at the Limited Meeting on Preparation for Eid al-Fitr 1438H/2017M, on 3 April 2017, at the President’s Office, Jakarta

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim,

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

 Mr. Vice President,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Facing Eid al-Fitr this year, although it is still two and a half months ahead, it would be better if we pay attention, particularly to have better preparations from year to year.

First, the availability of basic goods. Second, the preparation for transportation infrastructure and facilities. And third, the preparation for security.

And lastly, it is my hope that with earlier, better preparations, our Muslim brothers and sisters are able to observe their fasting during this year’s Ramadan in a quiet, safe, and comfortable way.
