Logo-Asian-Games-2018Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with Association of Indonesian Shopping Centers Tenants (HIPPINDO), will organize Indonesian Discounts Day (HBD Indonesia) to welcome the 2018 Asian Games and “Visit Wonderful Indonesia” (ViWI) 2018.

“The national-scale sale will be held in shopping centers across Indonesia from 8 August to 2 September 2018,” Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya said when receiving the Chairman of HIPPINDO Budiharjo Iduansjah at the Ministry of Tourism office, Jakarta, Monday (2/7).

According to Arief, HBD Indonesia will offer big discounts for buyers, and is organized to welcome the 2018 Asian Games and ViWI 2018. “We set Palembang to host HBD Indonesia,” Arief said.

For the record, HBD Indonesia will also offer special discounts under the theme “73”, referring to the 73rd anniversary of Indonesian independence in 2018. The discounts offered include discounts up to 73%, Special Price Rp73.000, and discounts for every buyer who celebrates 73rd birthday.

The Minister further said that the event will include the re-launch of Tax Refund program to attract foreign tourists to do shopping in Indonesia. Arief further said that HBD Indonesia will be held throughout Indonesia, not only in Jakarta and Palembang, so the people around the country will get the same discount for the same items.

In the meantime, Chairman of HIPPINDO Budihardjo Iduansjah said that HBD Indonesia is expected to become the biggest shopping, culinary, music and entertainment festival in Indonesia. The event will involve more than 200 companies with 500 local and international brands in 50,000 outlets, well-known retailers, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

“The event coincides with summer holiday abroad so hopefully there will be many foreign tourists who come to enjoy this HBD Indonesia,” Budiharjo said, adding that HBD Indonesia will also be a special gift for the 73rd anniversary of Indonesian independence.
