Indonesia men’s badminton team consisting of Fredy Setyawan, Harfizh Briliansyah, Hary Susanto, and Deva Anrimusthi secured the first gold medal for the host country at the 2018 Asian Para Games after defeating Malaysia team 2-1 in a match held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday (7/10).

Fredy Setiawan presented the first score for Indonesia after beating Malaysia’s Muhammad Norhilmee 21-6, 21-12.

However, Malaysia’s double pairing of Cheah Liek / Hairul Saba leveled up and successfully defeated Indonesia’s Hary Susanto / Hafidzh Briliansyah in the second game with 10-21, 17-21.

In the deciding singles match, Anrimusthi Deva outperformed his Malaysian rival, Mohammad Fariz Ahmad Azri, with a score of 21-6, 21-12.
