2018 IMF-World Bank Group Participants Exceed Expectations

Until Sunday (7/10), the numbers of participants for the IMF-World Bank Group (IMF-WBG) Annual Meetings in Bali have exceeded target set by the National Committee of 2018 IMF-WBG Annual Meetings.

Luhut ensured that Indonesia is prepared to host 2018 IMF-WBG Annual Meetings that is participated by 189 countries.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Minister of Finance observed the preparations progress at the venues of the 2018 IMF-WBG Annual Meetings. They observed meeting rooms and several locations that will be used for the meetings and seminar at the Nusa Dua complex.

“We are ready to commence this Annual Meeting (AM). All venues are ready and we are satisfied,” said Luhut Panjaitan.

For the record, the agendas of the meetings held at Bali International Convention Center (BICC), among others, are seminar on Women at Workplace, IMF Youth Dialogue, and Press Briefing on global financing, and so on. Meanwhile, the main events, namely the opening and closing ceremonies, will be held at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC.

“We expected to have 22,000 participants, until today 34,000 have registered to attend this meeting,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan acting as Chief of the National Committee for the Annual Meeting alongside with the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati reviewing facilities at the BICC and BNDCC, Nusa Dua, Bali, on Sunday (7/10) afternoon.

Furthermore, Sri Mulyani also visited health facilities, press center, also cultural diplomacy venue that will display various traditional dances at Taman Jepun and Indonesia Pavilion.

This year’s Annual Meeting will not only discuss substantial issues, but also display arts and crafts expo, tourism and infrastructure booths at Indonesia Pavilion.

Sahala Lumban Gaol, Expert Staff for the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises explained that at the Indonesia Pavilion, participants could see and buy arts and crafts made by Indonesians.

In addition, the booths will offer tourism package to participants. Meanwhile the infrastructure booth will display infrastructure development as well as some investment and financing opportunities in Indonesia. (Ministry of Finance Public Relations/ES)(HYP/AW/Naster)
