President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said that Minister of Finance, Minister of Home Affairs, Presidential Chief of Staff, and Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms have agreed to a new policy regarding village apparatus. Therefore, there is no need to hold any demonstration on the issue.

The President made the statement during his meeting with Association of the Indonesian Village Apparatus at Gelora Bung Karno Sport Complex, Jakarta, Monday (14/1).

According to the President, the Government has decided that monthly salary for village apparatus will soon be equated with that of junior supervisor level (II/a) of Civil Servants (PNS). For this reason, two Government Regulations (PP), namely PP Number 11 of 2015 and PP Number 47 of 2015 will soon be amended.

“The Government Regulations will be amended in next two weeks so they can be implemented soon,” the President said, adding that the Government will also ensure that all village heads and village apparatus will be covered by Social Security Provider Body for Employment (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) programs.

Also present during the event were, among others, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, and Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reforms Syafruddin. (GUN/RAH/ES)
