President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo accompanied by First Lady Ibu Iriana Joko Widodo on Friday (25/1) visited Bayt Alquran Islamic Boarding School, in Pondok Cabe Udik, South Tangerang City, Banten.

President Jokowi was welcomed by the school’s leader Prof. Dr. K.H. Quraish Shihab. Both the President and the cleric had a friendly talk afterwards.

For the record, Bayt Alquran Islamic Boarding School, which occupies an area of 1.5 hectares, is managed by the Quran Study Center (PSQ) and focuses on empowering the Quran hafiz.

Accompanying the President during the visit were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Mayor of South Tangerang City Airin Rachmi Diany and Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque Nazaruddin Umar. (DND / DNS / ES)
