Religion is needed as the basic foundation of the country amidst the increasingly complex life, according to Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin.

Lukman added that his Ministry had just finished a national working meeting attended by 72 rectors of religious colleges across the country and civil servants of Ministry of Religious Affairs.

“The meeting aims to strengthen religious moderation for Indonesia and the world,” the Minister said during a meeting attended by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Rectors of Religious Colleges (PTKN) and Regional Head Offices of Ministry of Religious Affairs at the Bogor Palace, Friday (25/1),

As for Indonesia, Lukman went on saying that every citizen is expected to uphold religious principles in their daily life and activities, while state civil apparatus must maintain harmony between religious people as religion and the Government are inseparable. (EN/OJI/ES)
