Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Todays Limited Meeting will discuss the acceleration of electric vehicle program. I acknowledge that numerous countries in the world are competing to be the best in developing electric vehicle technology since the technology considers being environmentally-friendly and may reduce our dependence on fossil energy. With the electric vehicle, we can also reduce fuel consumption and in the end will reduce our dependence on fuel import, in which can save budget up to Rp798 trillion.
Regarding this issue, I would like to convey several matters.
First, we need to immediately prepare and finish regulations on electric vehicle to speed up the program so that our country can soon be a major player in the industry.
Second, I request the planning and development of this program to be fully integrated between Ministries/Institutions and private sectors. The planning and development process includes research, innovation, budgeting and infrastructures.
Third, the development of electric vehicle is an opportunity to prepare Indonesian Human Resources that is mastering the latest technology as well as to create multiplier values by using more Local Content Requirements (TKDN).
