11meiIn a bid to anticipate traffic density ahead of the 2019 Eid al-Fitr, Ministry of Transportation will impose an odd-even license plate policy on vehicles crossing from Merak in Cilegon, Banten to Bakauheni in Lampung on a ferry.

In a Circular Number AP.201/1/3/DRJD/2019 which was signed by the Ministry’s Director General for Sea Transportation Budi Setiyadi on 9 May 2019, the odd-even plate license policy will be imposed in Merak Seaport from 8pm-8am starting from 30 May 2019 to 2 June 2019.

Meanwhile, the policy will be imposed in Bakauheni Seaport from 7 June to 9 June 2019, starting at 8pm-8am each day.

“The mechanism of policy implementation will be performed by Land Transportation Operator (BPTD), Provincial Transportation Agency, Regency/City Transportation Agency, the Police, and state-owned seaport operator PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry,” the Circular reads.

Under the Circular, Budi Setiyadi also instructed related parties to disseminate the policy to the public through a number of different forms of media. (ES)
