President Jokowi to Meet Moon Jae-In, Xi Jinping on Sidelines of G20 Summit

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday arrived in Osaka, Japan, to attend G20 Summit to be held on 28-29 June.

The President has previously announced main issues to be raised in  the Summit, including global economy and finance, particularly on trade and investment, the needs to speed up the development of the digital economy and Artificial Intelligence, and the issue of the quality of employment infrastructure and women’s empowerment.

On the sidelines of the Summit, President Jokowi is also slated to hold bilateral talks with among others President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-In and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

Indonesia first became a member of the G20 in 2008. It is the only country in ASEAN to be included.

The G20 comprises 19 countries — Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the US — and the European Union. The group members are Indonesia’s most important trading and economic partners.  (EN/GUN/ES)
