104 Pass Competency Test of KPK Leaders Selection

The Selection Committee assigned to choose new leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for period of 2019-2023 has announced that 104 candidates have passed the competency test.

The successful candidates include members of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) (9 candidates), retired members of Polri (3 candidates), judges (7 candidates), retired judges (2 candidates), prosecutors (4 candidates), retired prosecutors (2 candidates), academics/lecturers (19 candidates), lawyers/law consultants (11 candidates), auditors (4 candidates), members/commissioners of the KPK (14 candidates), members of the Commissions of Attorney of the Republic of Indonesia and the National Police (3 candidates), state apparatus (10 candidates), retired state apparatus (3 candidates), and others (13 candidates).

Among those who pass the competency test are several prominent figures, among others Polri High-ranking Officer Brig. Pol Agung Makbul, former Inspector General of Ministry of Law and Human Rights Aidir Amin Daud, KPK Deputy Chairperson Alexander Marwata, former Director of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency (BNN) Anang Iskandar, Deputy Director of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Corps (Bareskrim) Insp. Gen. Antam Novambar, KPK Deputy Chairperson for the 2015-2019 period Basaria Panjaitan, Deputy for Detection and Identification Division of the National Cyber and Encryption Agency Dharma Pongrekun, KPK Director of Education and Public Service Giri Suprapdiono, Polri Expert Staff Inspector General Ike Edwin, KPK Deputy Chairperson for the 2015-2019 period Laode Muhammad Syarif, KPK Deputy of Corruption Prevention Pahala Nainggolan, former Judicial Commission Chairperson Suparman Marzuki, and former Papua Police Chief Yotje Mende.

“The decision of KPK Selection Committee is final,” Head of the Selection Committee Yenti Garnasih said during her press statement at the Ministry of State Secretariat, Jakarta, Monday (22/7).

Those who pass competency test will take a psychological test to be held at the Center for Education and Training of Ministry of State Secretariat in Jakarta on 28 July 2019. (ES)
