BPIP: Pancasila Belongs to All People

National development that is in line with Pancasila, in the future, does not only belong to the old generation but also the youth, the Acting Head of the Agency for the Implementation of State Ideology of Pancasila (BPIP) Haryono has said.

“We have a program called “Mutiara Pancasila”. One example of (the program) is inspections on the experiment of tilapia fish discoverer, amounted to 11 experiments before succeeding,” Haryono said on  the national seminar entitled “Pancasila as a Platform for Human Development and Culture”, at the Auditorium of GPH Haryo Mataram, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, Central Java, Monday (19/8).

Innovation and creativity, according to Haryono, are needed to make progress for Indonesia in the future.

On the occasion, Deputy Governor of Central Java Taj Yasin Maimun applauded the seminar. “Pancasila is a platform for development. Pancasila is in line with the character of the Nation which consists of various tribes which live in Indonesia,” he said.

The values embedded in Pancasila, he said, are complete, namely religion, humanity, unity, deliberation, and social justice. All of which is contained in the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution. “Like a house, Pancasila is the foundation, while the pillar is the 1945 Constitution,” the Deputy Governor added.

As an open ideology, Pancasila is a source of spirit to face the crisis and challenges of unity. Pancasila, according to him, is also a foundation for politics and upholding human rights.

“The Pancasila economic system must be developed based on the principle of kinship,” the Deputy Governor said, adding that a monopoly economic system must be avoided.

Meanwhile, the universal defense and security system, according to Taj Yasin, is organized in a directed and continuous manner to protect the people.

The younger generation should be capable and be responsive, in accordance with the aims of development which are in line with Pancasila.

During the first session of discussion, an Advisor for the BPIP Sudhamek explained about the characteristics of Pancasila leaders who have the will to learn and spirit for mutual cooperation.

On the same occasion, a researcher, Yuniarto Wijaya said that the struggle in the identity politics affects urban people or the educated.

“After the financial crisis, we should restore the balance again, but until now it has not reached the balance point, globally,” Yunarto said, adding that the turmoil is suffered by the middle class and above.

For the records, this seminar also took place in 12 locations around the Sebelas Maret University. (EN/DNS/ES)
